Overview

The Dobsonian telescopes derive their name from John Dobson, an amateur astronomer renowned for devising a remarkably simple yet efficient telescope. The primary feature is its large aperture, achieving impressive functionality at an economical cost. Dobson’s innovative approach involved mounting a Newtonian telescope on an easily maneuverable alt-azimuth mount, eliminating the need for time-consuming alignments.
